Tiaré is a self-taught artist born and raised in Honolulu. With a professional background in TESOL, her foray into the gallery world began with pieces she created in her graduate school dormitory. She uses Crayola markers and other basic media combined with her personalized fingerpainting technique to bring alive bold and colorful depictions of island flora and life.

She draws on various sources of inspiration, including modern aesthetics popularized in anime, a genre she holds dear from her time spent living and working in Japan. The resulting image brings a sparkling and innovative new look to tropical art.

Tiaré's work has been featured in Honolulu's monthly First Friday events and in collaboration with other local creators as well as larger event venues such as the anime convention Kawaii Kon. Her first series prints made their debut for sale at the former Island Treasures Art Gallery in Kailua, on the island of Oahu.

Recently she has chosen to break away from the commercial gallery world and bring her creations into the community where she can inspire personal conversations with others. As she came into the industry from another field of discipline, she is firm in her belief that art creation should be accessible, and wants the world to know that there is no one way to make art.
